Tldr, we bought a secondhand D3100 W/2 lenses off eBay at the end of November. Kept it boxed up after a test run because Christmas present. Two days into January it started putting a line & ghosting onto bright photos, troubleshooting revealed shutter timing issues, cheaper to upgrade than repair.

The convenience of being able to Bluetooth photos to my phone has made spending $500 on this camera (and a 70-300 lens) last week much less annoying.
