Like if there's a specific reason that you need Arch or something, that's fine, but swapping out a bunch of working stuff for generic package manager reasons seems like it's not worth it

It would substantially surprise me to even break even on the time it takes to replace a bunch of OSes. The dev packages in Ubuntu are pretty good and most of the environment is better handled with docker or conda type stuff anyway.

I'd change students before OSes
