Yesterday, Team Caity stopped by the SCLC's Union Job Fair! Along with all the other amazing work the SCLC does, it's great to see them work with local organizations and the city to connect people with more opportunities.

Last night's community update was a huge success! Along with the Department of Community Response, Team Caity facilitated a town hall-style meeting about planned homeless services in D5. Thank you so much to everyone who came and showed their support!

Today, the Front Street Animal Shelter brought the sweetest pup to City Hall. Love adores people, gets along with other dogs, and has been waiting at the shelter for a month to find her forever home. Let’s help her get out of the shelter and into the loving home she deserves!

For years, the Colonial Heights Library served a large portion of Districts 5 and 6, but since sustaining fire damage in July 2024, several neighborhoods have lost their nearest library.

We stopped by the Food Literacy Center’s Farmers Market Dinner to support their incredible work teaching kids about healthy eating. From locally sourced fall flavors to conversations about food justice, it was a great reminder of how Sacramento’s farms and nonprofits care for our communities.

After two whole years of advocacy, the city's Law and Legislation Committee is moving our Kirpan Ordinance forward to a vote by the general Council. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to pass this before November, Sikh Awareness Month!

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento is building 23 affordable townhomes on Wah Avenue, and Mutual Housing California is constructing a four-story, 100-unit apartment building on the other side of the same site. I'm so excited to see it all come together!
