Letters to a Monster by Patricia Forde and Sarah Warburton is an imaginative tale told through humorous letters between Sophie and the monster who lives under her bed. We loved watching fear and mistrust blossom into friendship.

That face says it all! Brenda (the cat) is not ok with this game. Brenda's Revenge by Sarah Tagholm and Laurie Stansfield portray's the importance of respecting the bodily autonomy of others (animals included) in a humorous and relatable way. #KidLitUK

Ice Apprentices by Jacob North is an icy adventure that I am glad I got to share. The magical world is deeply immersive, the plot action packed and so edge of your seat that parts of it was read to a lump hiding under the duvet! We need more from this series! #KidLitUK

Working our way through The Music Box GNs by Carbone and Gije, translated from the french original. Enchanted with the idea of falling into another world, Pandorient, within a music box. The illustrations are lush and the story is full of fantasy and adventure. #KidsGN📚💬

I am enjoying the linguistic angle of this YA fantasy: A Language of Dragons by S.F. Williamson. Multiple spoken dragon languages layered with different dialects and a secret dragon language at a frequency undetectable to human ears. Be still my nerdy heart!

Really enjoyed the final book in The Spectacular trilogy, Battle of the Stars, by Jodie Garnish. Combining a magical fantasy world with the theatre was always going to pique our interest. This book was exciting and kept us guessing, ending the series on a high. #KidLitUK

I was pleased to note that debates around the controversy of using AI in the arts and the possibility of AI putting people out of work were also discussed alongside the exciting possibilities AI might bring, making this a balanced and thought provoking book. #KidLitUK
