There’s not a lot of mechanisms that allow a government to pass a law unchecked - the notwithstanding clause is one of them and should not be touted as a tool to pass horrible legislation.

what if you became so content with your perfect little box life that you forgot to care about anyone?

what if you were a perfect specimen in your little box, perfectly content with your little box life, but you and your box were used as a weapon against someone you care about?

what if you were deemed too <wrong denomination>, or too cowardly, or too compassionate, or too stupid, or too smart, or too whatever? what if you were put in a box, and the box were too small to contain your multitudes? what if your box were deemed a threat and slated for eradication?

what if it didn't matter if you threw away your phone, or if you switched to a typewriter, because virtually everybody had some variant of the same process happening inches away from you at every waking moment of your day? and even though you're all so close together, you're all so, so alone

what if the mic and camera were always on, also being analyzed, identifying contacts, associated patterns of light and shadow and formants and pitch, identifying spoken words, capturing your breathe -- at every moment, and classifying you?

"oh how will I choose an instance!?!?" it doesn't matter! roll dice! pick one out of a hat! Or pick one physically hosted near you! Or pick one catering to an interest of yours! And if it doesn't work out, you can change it! So who cares!?!?!?
