I commented on the latest @thedailyshow.com ep on YouTube because the r-slur isn't okay no matter who says it.

It is a weapon that has been used against me and my friends our entire lives to mock us and put us down, both as a direct insult said to our faces and as a general casual term to indicate that something or someone is bad / less worthy. To hear one of my favorite comedy news commentators not only say it out loud as a direct quote from trump but then continue to say it to make a joke was hurtful to me, and probably to others who are disabled or who have family members who are disabled. Our community has fought so hard over the last 20 years or so to get that word out of people's mouths, and we were making great progress. To see it all undone by such a hateful man that is our president and then taken up by people who are ostensibly opposed to that president and are supposedly on our side, well, it's a disappointment to say the least. I don't know if you'll even see this comment, but I hope you might take to heart that this word is not okay, no matter who says it or the intention behind it. Thank you."

Have some basic empathy, don't persecute the houseless. If you are able to, work with your local mutual aid groups to help address the needs in your community without turning to punitive "solutions".
