In this specific case I don't believe the person was making a distinction between those folks that "contribute" vs. those who "don't," but instead saying folks with autism are all contributors and all deserve love. Contributions don't need to be economic/capitalistic to be valid and valuable.

Truly- as reflected in the many complaints about the "mainstream media" as though that very apparatus wasn't owned by those sharing their bitter little viewpoints 🙊

I also understood it this way, and I think his intent was pretty clear from context. Imagine being so miserable that you deliberately misinterpret someone's kind comment 😂
