One thing that has surprised me during this latest round of American decline is the response from YouTubers and TikTokers. The channels WatchMojo and New Rockstars, ostensibly entertainment discussion channels, both did videos on the 1st amendment issue happening. Way to step up?

Closet clean out continues: I have this big box of notes and letters and programs and things from my 15 years of teaching and part of me just wants to say goodbye to it all and move forward and part of me wants to hoard it all in a box forever.

Closet clean out continues. Found old purikura and love letters from my ex-fiance who dumped me oh like 8 years ago now. Throwing them out really does make my apartment feel cleaner, somehow.

Anybody in Japan want a free resin 3D printer and curing station? You just have to pay chakubarai shipping from Yamato. Both have resin residue on them because I constantly spilled resin and the tape is because I replaced the screen on the printer itself. All spare parts, too.

A thing that I love is when I cancel a service in Japan and my account on the website or in the app disappears but I still get spam from that company to my email and the only way to unsubscribe... Is to log into the account that they deleted. Perfect. No notes.

I've been avoiding spending money on non-essentials, but in order to survive the rest of August, I decided to buy a larger sun hat and a proper parasol. Look at this monster! Honestly, no regrets.

Tasks filing paperwork at government offices today and losing the will to live. Not because of the government offices. The workers there are extremely patient and helpful. But just going outside in August makes me want to die.

So my friend got me to watch the first episode of Kaiju No. 8 and the main character is named Kafka, which I'm assuming is a reference to The Metamorphosis, but that story is a prolonged metaphor about disability and how the disabled are treated. This...is just monsters, right?
