To give you a sense of how harmful detention is, the prevalence of mental illness, PTSD & poor health among detained immigrants in our study was ASTRONOMICALLY higher than in the US pop, even after controlling for pre-det health characteristics (see below). jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...
