4. 🫶 Dwynwen lead a blessed life and became the Welsh patron saint of lovers.

She's also the patron saint of sick animals! Which means you can pray to Dwynwen to find you your true love, and to help make your pup feel better - a win win. ❤️ 🐾

3. 🧊 So, God granted her three wishes instead. Her first was for Maelon to be thawed; second was for God to help all true lovers be together from now on; and third was for her to never marry. To thank God, she became a nun and set up a convent on Llanddwyn Island on Anglesey.

2. 💔 Dwynwen was heartbroken and ran away to the woods to cry and have space to beg God to help her. An angel visited the Princess and gave her a 🪄potion✨ to forget Maelon - but that actually turned him into a block of ice.

1. 🏔️ The 4th Century Welsh Princess lived in the Brecon Beacons as one of 24 daughters to King Brychan Brycheiniog. When she fell in love with a local boy, Maelon Dafodrill, the King disapproved - he'd already arranged for her to marry another Prince.
