I’m not asking it generate shit without any input or fact checking the output. For me, there is immense value in not having to endlessly agonize over word choice in a client email or spend hours generating a recap of a two day workshop. For you, there may not be.

I have a corporate job where I’m on calls and send emails all day. I cannot tell you how much time LLMs save me.

Mostly, I’m asking them to convert rough notes into a recap, review a super long document for language consistency, or give options for organizing my thoughts in a more logical way.

But it’s unproductive to tell someone describing the ways they incorporate and find utility in AI tools that not only are the benefits they outline imaginary but their brains are broken and they’re credulous imbeciles who have never read a book.

Of COURSE there are ethical and legal questions and concerns about LLMs. But I think that the “they have no use and are garbage” folks are often responding emotionally rather than rationally. Which I get! It’s a topic that evokes emotion.
