I’m not sure there is somebody I have found more professionally inspiring. He grew in the same eclectic backwaters that I did. I am so relieved that I was able to meet him, and that it was exactly the kind of surreal, beautiful, strange, wonderful experience I had hoped for.

people understandably want to assign heavy values of goodness and kindness to people whose art they love—because isn't the art an extension of the artist, etc etc? but the deification of people who are, at the end of the day, human beings with warts of varying degrees, is only hurtful to oneself.

I don't understand these people, somebody being a skilled or celebrated person is exactly how they are able to escape accountability and keep perpetuating abuse. even if one is so-so on their work (I haven't been a huge fan of his), we can't let personal opinions get in the way of that.

it’s also so expensive. my husband and I always have to get uber xl so he fits, he can’t fly most airlines in normal economy because his legs are too long, head injury is a real danger, his hands are too large for normal shit, etc. never felt so lucky to be short until he and I got together.

I’m very short, and while a lot of life is frustrating being below average height, being 6’7” is like a disability. my husband cannot fit on most planes, seats in movie theatres won’t fit him, can’t take normal cabs because his legs are too long for most sedans. I’d take being a shortie any day tbh.

my husband is also 6’7” and honestly feels that helping people is one of the few aspects of being that tall in public that isn’t constant physical discomfort

none of them were exactly lining up to protect feinstein, either. the unfortunate reality is a great number of people benefit financially from elderly politicians—of which we have many—continuing to be in office (whether they are present literally or mentally), dems included.
