That's true right now but various groups have been "in" and others have been "out" throughout history. ANY religion that divides humans into "chosen" and "not chosen" can be used to dehumanize, divide, and ultimately lead to genocide.

We can say that these religions should focus on love, caring, etc., but so long as the parts of these religions that dwell on in-groups versus out-groups exist, the potential to be exploited for hate, dehumanization, and genocide by demonizing the out-group will always be sitting there.
