I found this image online, which appears to suggest that life is not always good when you listen to music, but after doing more research it turns out that the photo was taken just after the man's headphones broke, and he's unhappy because he couldn't hear the music any more. So I guess you're right.

Exactly so, yes. It's this kind of wonkily poetic parallel-universe relationship between the described and depicted that led me to post this one first.

What about musicians that sit on my lap while playing? What are they called? Some of them look me straight in the eye while they play, and it's a bit unnerving at first, but once you get past the awkwardness it can be very rewarding. People talk about 'intimate shows', but this is true intimacy.

So rather than the universe ending in a Big Crunch, it'll end in a Big Chew, as the pinch roller eventually getting too shiny, allowing the infinite tape to wander off the end of the capstan and the entirety of spacetime gets mangled into an unplayable singularity. Hope I'm long gone by then.

I'm sure you'll have heard it, as it gets played quite a lot, you probably just didn't realise what it was at the time. You'd recognise it if I played it to you. One of those 'ah, so *that's* what this is' moments.

When I play music out of my phone on public transportation, I like to play field recordings of public transportation journeys, but not necessarily the route I'm taking at the time. So on the train between Chirk and Ruabon last week, I played a Cwmbran to Pontypool trip. People seemed into it.

This sounds very much like you won't be diversifying and launching a Strategic Tapas Reserve any time soon.
