An imitation collector card, with the brand "Australian Liberal Party Lies". This is #8. The tagline is "Collect them all ... so you don't elect them all!" The Lie section says: “Our energy plan using nuclear will cost 44% less”. The Facts section says: “Their modelling excludes most of the cost, because nuclear arrives late in the 25 years modelled, and the cost is spread over the 50 years after their 20 year construction. It only includes about 16% of the cost of nuclear plants! ” A stacked bar chart shows the annual electricity production in TWh from renewable (in green), fossil (in charcoal), and nuclear (in red) sources. Nuclear plants can be seen only generating small amounts of energy at 2040, and significant amounts of energy from 2045 onwards. The large bar at the right, with a timeframe of “Later”, is labelled “The other 5 / 6ths of the nuclear lifetime / costs not in the model”. A small yellow line above the 2051 bar shows the energy expected from the AEMO Step Change scenario. A note says the Liberal’s nuclear plan “produces 25% less energy than AEMO’s plan they’re comparing to”.
