If you’re a true movie fan or just love reading about the pre-Code Era, Production Code, and post-Code rules, this is a great read. Also hurry on your way to grab it if you enjoy movie docs like The Celluloid Closet. #booksky #classicfilm #lqbtqdocs

I liked this! Rachel Harrison fan in general, and this one cleared the suspension of disbelief hurdle for me. Enjoy! #booksky #horror

Not for me. Tonally caught amidst upmarket, suspense, and rom-com, and the dialogue was very unbelievable.

I enjoyed this absorbing and chilling story. It’s a bit of a Russian doll, and you’ll likely be walloped by twists you wouldn’t expect in the third act of upmarket fiction. #booksky #upmarketfiction

Ok. Hard read. If you’ve been lucky enough to have a loving and supportive family, buckle in and read it anyway. Bear witness to a life filled with tragedy and abuse, and see how seemingly strange choices make more sense when filtered through a distorted lens of trauma. #booksky #epsteinfiles

I loved this book examining ladies in waiting during the reign of Henry VIII. These aren’t stories that generally get told. It’s more context for how authoritarians will reach ever further down to punish people for perceived wrongs, even if the people being punished had little agency. #booksky

@jensafrey.bsky.social Your book was the balm I needed in 2025! A wild ride with the righteous anger, grace, and determination that only women over 50 can truly muster. So proud to be signed at Sibylline Books alongside authors like you! #booksky

A good friend recommended this to me—actually put it in my hands and said, “I got this for you.” How often do we do that for people? I should do that more. At any rate, a beautiful look at professional obsession and the lives of anthropologists in the ‘30s. Recommend! #booksky #margaretmead

So: not only is this a should-read—-it’s also a must-read. Tons of information I did not know, and it’s so well-paced and well-written at the sentence level that it never feels like a chore. Highly recommend, especially In These Difficult Times. #booksky

Loved this until the final moment. I hate it when a great book jumps the shark at the end. Enjoy the ride, but you’ve been warned. #booksky #thriller

I LOVED this and really wasn’t expecting all that much if I’m honest. Such well drawn characters and, have mercy, actions and motivations that seem grounded in reality. No shark jumping! Highly recommend. #booksky #mystery #thriller

When your vacation spent reworking a manuscript and getting your oldest ready for college drop-off, needs must be met. #summer #caffeine #writingcommunity

I enjoyed this page turner very much! The dialogue sometimes felt flat, but the characters were believable and their motivations clear. Good summer read 🌞 #booksky

This one was a present and not one I might’ve chosen, but it was diverting and well-researched #historicalfiction. Good summer read! #booksky

Another #translation that is spare and opaque. A slow beginning, to be sure, but then it’s a combination travelogue and thriller. Well worth the reconsideration it’s receiving. #booksky

This translation is spare and devastating. Exquisitely crafted, and a book in which you wish the narrator had more to say. #booksky #translation

Dishy dishy dishy! Lean into the #fiction part of #historicalfiction and enjoy the dialogue without worrying if it’s too hard on the principals. Loved! #booksky

Read this now! Such fun #agathachristie vibes, and a fun cast of characters with no clunkers in the mix. #booksky

Such a beautiful and timely look at a lesser understood part of the Holocaust. Requires a rethinking of who we might consider “complicit” without completely understanding their circumstances. Highly recommend! #booksky

Finally took my turn with this goodie. I found it more of a slow burn than expected, but I loved the story and learned a bit more about #mythology . Recommend if you’re one of the few, like me, who had this on the #tbr for a shamefully long time. #booksky

Good thriller! Paula Hawkins has perfected a literary writing style combined with page turning plots. #booksky

Just. Delightful. If the Golden Girls were actually highly trained, semi-retired assassins. Smart dialogue, well built characters. Get a a little on the cozy side with all the food descriptions, but I guess that tracks the Golden Girls vibe as well. Great #summerread! #booksky

#booksky I had HIGH hopes for this one. I can’t recommend based on the quality of dialogue, which, to my ears, doesn’t sound like anyone talks to anyone.
