Isn’t it time for the Democratic states to stop paying federal income tax? No taxation without representation???

Some context here… Irelands GDP p/c is one of the worlds highest; but it is distorted by the fact that it is home to corporate tax shelter laws that drive GDP but not individual incomes or the broader economy. Nevertheless - Ireland has indeed done well, and brexit was indeed stupid!

Compare this to the US crew stuck on the ISS for months because of a problem with the Boeing capsule. No massive drama. No relentless TV. Just an efficient plan B that brought the team home quickly, safely and efficiently. That is why the future is being built in China rather than the US.

Definitely not an expert in this area but are perovskites really robust enough for multi-year space applications? Is there a reason they are more suited to space based systems than earth bound?. I thought they would have been more widely available already….

My own observation is that religion provides a mechanism to believe in justice in a patently unjust world. Where societies provide a social basis for greater justice, religion is less compelling. Hence gross wealth disparity, not just poverty, is often correlated with religious societies.

Actually this is a good idea. The Kennedys would not want their name attached to a center that will probably start to feature naked teenage girl mud wrestling bouts.
Maybe it should be called the “MT culture” center?

If Uranus is too hot, you should stop using those heated seats! 😄 - sorry I just couldn’t resist posting it!

It looks bad when you say it like that- but the global population is growing whether we like it or not for at least the next 50 years. Better that it grows in the cities where the average “footprint” is much smaller than in the suburbs or in the exurbs.

👍 thanks. That looks pretty consistent with mine in the city.

I am surprised at that! Mine does the opposite. At Highway speeds the AC is consuming a smaller fraction of the total - so its relative importance should be less. Maybe I misunderstood your comment.

That I understand. I should clarify; my projected range after turning the A/C off is higher than before I turn it on! May just be extrapolating from multiple prior use but if so I can’t figure out the algorithm.
I wondered if A/C use cooled/ warmed a sensor or something. Thanks though.

Is it possible the melt water is so much colder that it tends to sink, pushing saltier water up from the depths? I know salt water is typically more dense and tends to sink, but not sure if a thermal gradient could reverse that.

Following the earlier ev discussion: I have only recently needed to use the heat pump A/C in my Bolt. I often notice that using it for a few minutes then turning off actually increases my projected range. Any idea if this is a real effect and why?

Maybe this tells you that the GOP is never expecting to need those votes again in order to win elections!

Any word on handling crowd control?
So when people need help with disasters the Feds are not available. But when it comes to cracking a few heads - no problem, no matter the cost!

You can add the Chinese cultural revolution- a more recent event. It took China a generation to recover.

All enabled by the mistrust in their own government- for which we can thank Reagan! He laid the foundations!

There are no robber barons involved in the current transfer of wealth to the rich. It is a result of working people voting to send their child’s inheritance to the uber-rich through massive tax cuts - a staggering $35Trillion in debt that we will all end up paying. Thank you GOP! Can’t fix stupid!

Didn’t I just read the VP declares that this conflict has nothing to do with the US and we won’t intervene? Do Vance and Trump ever speak to each other?

You should also remind him that they are purely hypothetical at this point; and that there may be incredible new insights and intellectual adventures to be had by some bright new student!

Luckily this does not change the commitment from the EU or China to pursue climate research and solutions; but we may need to start reading more scientific journals that are not published in English! It is sad, but it is mostly a loss to the US rather than humanity at large.

Yes, but we need Advil, not cyanide!
