The only thing 24hr on calls are teaching me as a CT1 is that I'm probably cool with not becoming a consultant if being a consultant means doing them for the rest of my career.

Me: I'm going to start looking at Primary FRCA stuff really early cause I know physics is a super challenging subject for me (and the last time I studied it formally was 16 years ago doing my GCSEs), so I want plenty of time

Nice little milestone on my on-call yesterday getting my 100th intubation, and on a case I managed start to finish confidently with local supervision.
It's been a hard start, and sure, other people have probs got here faster than me, but I am a proud of myself seeing the difference from day 1 ☺️

Can't work out whether I do actually owe HMRC money from last year or not despite combing through payslips and trying various tax calculators and my P60. None of the calculations add up. Clear as mud. HMRC is a scam.

2 clinical days til annual leave, and I am so ready. Nearly completed my first 4 months in anaesthetics...I am EXHAUSTED.
It's a great job and I'm happy, but it's also really challenging for a lot of reasons, some of which I expected and some I didn't at all.
Having a proper break will be v nice.
