The most hilarious outcome would be for the case to get thrown out because the plaintiff, Trump-Kennedy Center, doesn’t legally exist.

And the billionaires have convinced much of the bottom 50% that immigrants are the ones taking their money.

Yes! Every study on coffee is like, “Scientists set out to find the health risks of coffee, but instead discovered it cures beri beri and gives your hair luster.”

Apart from being racist and wrong, their argument makes no sense. If there’s oppression and rape in certain countries, the people escaping here are victims, not perpetrators. Under their logic, German Jews who came here in the 1930s and ‘40s were Nazis.

I think you have those percentages backwards. But your point still stands — a 21% false-positive murder rate is too high. Plus, of course, even guilty drug smugglers can’t be summarily executed without trial.

From today’s Thanksgiving:

Mom: You know, this was your great-grandmother’s cast iron pan. It’s been in the family for generations.

Me: YOURE THE REASON THE ECONOMY IS FUCKED!!

Trump made clear that the DOJ investigations were *only* into democrats. So, there’s no reason to withhold documents that implicate republicans….right?

Defending the shutdown, Duffy continued: “But we believe that not being able to see your family for Thanksgiving is a small price to pay for also not having affordable healthcare.”

At least it makes voting easy:
- Favor social market economy? Vote democrat
- Favor neoliberal capitalism? Vote democrat
- Favor Reaganist pure free-market capitalism? Vote democrat

- Favor command economy whose sole purpose is to make Trump rich and impoverish the powerless? Vote republican

Not true! They indicted Bolton for mishandling classified information, so your point….still stands.

I don’t know. I thought the cops literally trampling on the American flag at the end was a little on the nose.

Could states sue? They were the plaintiffs when Biden’s loan cancellations were challenged — which had a lot more statutory backing than this. (Politically, of course, there’s no way that democratic states would fight against paying soldiers.)

In Justice Barrett’s defense, how can we expect them to finally resolve an issue when a Democrat may be elected president someday and they have to put all the guardrails back?

Not normal for the US Attorney herself to be the only signature. And if it’s determined that Halligan was improperly appointed (which is a real possibility), the whole prosecution falls apart.

As if we needed more proof that Fox News isn’t legit. If any real news org blatantly lied to their viewers like this, it would be a major scandal. But it’s Fox News — it’s a joke. It’s like saying the Onion didn’t really talk to that man on the street.

100%. If only because of this: if you don’t endorse him, the next time you tell liberals they need to ignore ideological differences and just vote for some institutional democrat who won the primary because it’s so important we win, they’ll tell you to go fuck yourself.

I keep wondering this. Is it: (1) they’re hypocrites who will rediscover checks & balances when dems return to power, (2) they know a democratic president would never do this, or (3) like you say, they don’t expect a democrat will ever be allowed to be president again.

I know. Bush v. Gore hit while I was in law school, and it really shook my belief in a universal, apolitical constitutional law. But that was nothing compared to this.

Exactly. The day I read that quote for the first time, the conservative philosophy suddenly went from wildly contradictory to abhorrently consistent.

Seriously. Mamdani’s going into the general election for *NYC mayor* against two candidates who are effectively endorsed by Donald Trump…and a Republican.
