For anyone who didn't know, "ExxonMobil was a significant influence in preventing ratification of the Kyoto Protocol by the US funded organizations critical of the Kyoto Protocol & undermined public opinion about the scientific consensus that global warming is caused by the burning of fossil fuels".

It's important to do your research before you accept online opinions. Taking freebies of info is a bad idea, and can get one to fall for something that is objectively wrong.

The Internet is a polarizing place, with everyone posting for engage people, with self-benefit in mind.

US sent defensive aid (below)

Russian-organized elections in Crimea were not democratic cause they violate principles of self-sovereignty, international law, & free and fair electoral standards

The US gov, under Obama, did apply diplomatic pressure through UN and G7, and imposed economic sanctions (along with the EU).

Russia illegaly held an election in Crimea. What justification could US give to support military action against the people's vote in Crimea - "to support democracy"?

You forget about the annexation of Crimea that started all this... That was way before there was Ukranian public support for joining NATO.

Social media has become a planning for farming an individual's habits and desires, and convincing them that they need certain products to be happier, healthier, better.

It's not about connection anymore. Or maybe it never was...

The Nazis invaded Poland and persecuted Jews long before America got involved...
December 28, 2024 at 3:32 PM
Yes, but when invadee is dependent on aid from others (which can be withdrawn), safeguarding their own people and resources should take precedence over "winning" the war.
December 28, 2024 at 1:24 PM
Contrary opinion: War, and peace, is a bilateral phenomenon. It impacts the common folk on both sides, for the "ambitions" of the ruling class, who never even see the battleground. Ceasefire and peace negotiations is the only way to safeguard the masses.

Instead of just "fuck off" it should say:

"Sure, for a bazillion dollars"
"But... I can't afford it"
"Fuck off then"

If morality comes from a fear of eternal damnation, than from a desire of being a "good" person (whatever that might be), then yes, it's a damn big problem.

I, being outside of the US, wonder if banning booking constitutes a violation of free speech, and a breach of the 1st Amendment (on the state, not federal level)

Would be grateful if anyone can shed some light on this.
