The deadsnakes team maintains ubuntu package repo with old pythons and python packages. They don’t publish repos with versions of python that are linked against dangerously old libssl. They will create a private repo for you though if you need it. launchpad.net/~deadsnakes/...

True, but I would argue that response and recovery from it is an equally impactful example of how to successfully respond to such a disaster.

Because python re-uses ints (up to 256 i think) as a performance optimization. They are, in effect, singletons.
