Gamer. Engineer. Father. Space Nerd.

I play MtG (mainly EDH and Limited), Tabletop RPGs, and Board Games. SF, superhero, and Fantasy fan. I believe in freedom and justice and hate bullies.
My dentist plays country music or streaming while doing crowns. Thank goodness there was an MST3K of the Lassie movie "The Painted Hills".

In other news, I don't think I get the Lassie cinematic universe.

Lots of nifty value adds to various decks, but this is probably the most fun. It's like "what if Crackle with Power was simic?"

I'll be straight with you here. Though I can do things like win with Maze's End, this is really my "let's have fun with Doppelgang" deck.

I take precons and jazz them up, but if they aren't interesting or fun, I'll strip them for parts. This deck and Aminatou are the two precons of 24 that I have added to my permanent rotation.

In some ways it's just a big mana deck (like a coffers deck), but has some fun lines.

I mean drawing cards is good, right?

Hark, another like!

I'd like to play Outgunned, a modern action game by Italian rpg outfit Two Little Mice:

Leonardo is going through some changes right now. I initially built it to cheat in expensive artifacts, but that alone wasn't winning games. I'm finding the deck wins more when I have other ways to make thopters, like Sai or Access Denied, so I'm adding more of those.

Felix isn't super consistent, but still fun. It works best when I'm doubling triggers from Malcolm, Kodama, Ojer Kaslem, or Key to the Vault.

Heartless Conscription is a sleeper hit. I had it as a placeholder until I got Toxic Deluge, but after winning a few games with it, I decided to keep it.

New Precons I finished the year with:
Aminatou, Veil Piercer (fun spin on enchantress!)
Bello, Bard of the Brambles (aggro artifacts!)
Mirko, Obsessive Theorist (reanimate clones!)
Omo, Queen of Vesuva (land shenanigans!)
Not shown: Ulalek (I'll likely retire this unless I can jazz it up)
December 12, 2024 at 12:29 PM
Retired decks (scratch-built):
Hua Tuo (its concept never gelled)
Atraxa, Grand Unifier (too grindy, too oppressive)
Myra the Magnificent (was fun, but I didn't play for too long and needed its parts for Iron Man)
December 12, 2024 at 12:23 PM
Decks I retired this year (precons):
The Fourth Doctor/Sara Jane
Zimone, Myster Unraveler (I like the idea of morphs/manifests, but found this deck to lack nuance)
Jared Carthalion (a little dull)
Otrimi (played out its gimmick)

I'd love to play Court of Blades, a BitD-based game of fantasy swashbuckling!

If you are planning on visiting Volcanoes, especially if >1 day, we had a lovely experience at Volcano Village Lodge! Great B&B, closer than Hilo.

1) A card you love to play
2) A card you love to hate
3) A card people associate with you
4) A card with art you love

(#3 is a little dated, I'm probably better known for Swan Song or March of Swirling Mist now)
