What the modern U.S. needs to do is to stand by their original principles and constitution rather than let these powerful men destroy it all. It really ought to be strong enough to last for 250 years and more.

Actually, even many years ago in England, the American war of independence was one of the few things in history that wasn't taught as if the British were automatically perceived as the good guys. The justice of 'no taxation without reprsentation' was obvious.
