She also really liked to argue that the overwhelming majority of C-sections were "unnecessary".

It will likely horrify you to know that she wanted to become a midwife, and I sincerely hope that that didn't happen for her.

We're not friends anymore, and while it wasn't *entirely* because she said truly bonkers shit like "You can go a month past your due date and everything will be fine", that certainly made me question her judgement about things.

Yeah. I've made my peace with it (as much as I can). The irony of it all is that I chose to transfer to that community college because the larger state university they're affiliated with is actually pretty well-respected with regards to folklore studies.
