Largely unapologetically.
I have a ton of red fabric, know any seamstresses who like making handmaid costumes? 🤣

I don't think he ever really was the darling? Most of us saw him as the crazy dude he is, the party only got as far as they didn't because of BCL/United crumbling. They probably would have actually taken office if it was someone other than Rustad.

Trump ain't right, but I'm fine with this nasty excuse for a Canadian being held to the full extent of the law on this. Trophy killing is garbage and looked down on here, too. (By the vast majority, anyway)

I hate that I am just the right age to have had one chance to vote and experience Canadian politics before the right consolidated and forced everything to become closer to the US.

I'm just the right age to have had a better system in my hands and have it taken away by bad faith gaming.

Massive and luckily easily debunkable.

Also illegal without permits, so like maybe let's prosecute them if that's what they want to go with.

Uncontained, approved, or monitored biological experimentation and biohazard research.

Pretty sure there are some hefty regulations around germ research

He's maple ridge Pitt Meadows.

It's unfortunate.

For what it's worth, I am of the belief we live in Canada, and expecting fresh Mediterranean produce all year is a sign of how removed from the environment we are.

A huge part of our food pricing is from shipping and storage.
July 31, 2025 at 4:29 PM
It needs to be us.

We just need to be prepared to pay the true cost of it, and I think a lot of people don't realise how subsidized their food is. We've been living as petit-bourgeois for generations, ignoring how our food prices stay low because it's out of sight, out of mind.
July 31, 2025 at 1:45 AM
It's nice that we have the ability to have more options and such, but our relationship with food has become unrealistic. We want it now and nice and plentiful, and that is not sustainable, or healthy for the future.
July 30, 2025 at 8:12 PM
You won't find an argument here.

I just think we need to also be taking personal accountability into this equation, and recognise that we can't all be bourgeois. Until the 20th century, food was nearly 80% of the working class household budget, and you had to eat what was available, and not waste

The earth doesn't have enough land, dude.

Nowhere does. We are a massively invasive species. This isn't a Canada problem, or even a north America one. We're arguably better shielded from all this than most places due to our climate and sparsity.

So we can blame a variety of things, but IMO the TFW program was just catering to the public's demand to have food at below the real cost.
July 30, 2025 at 7:29 PM
Food is expensive. Global chains brought the prices down but the real cost for those producing the food is terrible.

My own parents generation is not that long ago, and they never wasted food because they were around for the beforetimes
July 30, 2025 at 7:29 PM
And while yes, we need to demand better corporate management and less profit driven industries, but the same people complaining also turn their noses up at farmers markets because of the price
July 30, 2025 at 7:29 PM
But we demand food at prices below anything in history, and the reality is that it's not possible without tramping all over whoever is doing the growing/labour.
July 30, 2025 at 7:29 PM
It is impossible with our pop levels and reality for everyone to have land, nor does it work for everyone to grow, I don't have an issue with that, personally.
July 30, 2025 at 7:25 PM
The TFW has been an awful program since it's conception.

There is no winning when you bring back indentured servitude with different branding. Either minimum wage and rights are for everyone, or we are a two tiered society. I thought we were done with feudalism, personally.

Election talk part 9
Email example part 5/8

Today was shameful, and I hope my email is one of many that demand a better standard. If highschool teachers can convince 14 year old boys to wait their turn, so can the professionals organising critical national debates.

Election talk part 8
Email example part 4/6

...If anything was revealed tonight, it was that whoever set the tone and standard for the debates tonight cares more about entertaining television than the benefit of our country.

Election talk part 7

Email example part 3/5

Debate has format. These events are meant to be informative, to help voters make decisions. I learned nothing new tonight, no discussion was held, no points were justified. ...
