An example of power over players being used in sport is the IIHF making neckguards mandatory for the 2026 winter olympics, in the NHL it’s not required and players can choose if they want to wear one. I personally think this is a good use of power to protect players

It’s crazy how simply because he’s president, he thinks he can select where an entire pro sports event takes place, another interesting topic is that you said it’s near his birthday but in his words he claims hosting the event is “to celebrate 250 years of American independence.”

This is an interesting form of media that was taken of my football team by the Brandon Sun. It’s interesting how even though it’s outlined in the form of print media like a newspaper, it is also available online as digital media. This media depends on sports as it is named “The Brandon Sun Sports”

Fans play a big part in the environment at sports games. Ron Artest had a beer thrown at him by a fan after the pistons and pacers broke out into a fight.Ron charged into the stands causing one of the craziest fan VS player altercations in sport history.

Technically it has negative health benefits because after the sugar rush a sugar crash comes and typically your gameplay is suppose to be sluggish & worse when that happens. I’m not sure if there is any science behind it but when I drink it after every shift i feel good and never seem to crash.

In my opinion, this is their job and what they have worked for their entire life. If it was a regular season game sitting out because of an injury makes sense, but during the championship round of the hardest postseason in the world you put your body on the line and do whatever it takes to win!

Alex Ovechkin has habits of a “deviantized” body.He drinks pop during games and intermission. He drinks Pepsi, Coke or Dr. Pepper. I can relate to this as during my hockey games I mix cherry coke and cherry Pepsi in a bottle and drink it after shifts.Wk/8

I agree your opinion. This is a business, not minor sports anymore and Bo has put in all his work and effort to get to this point. If it was any regular season game it would make sense to rest but in the playoffs you go til you can’t go anymore. Awesome topic!

Hey Simran!

I am referring to competition and winning the play/ game of whatever sport it is that you are competing in. Like scoring a touchdown or getting gold in a race. Thanks for the question!

I define a sport as a physical activity, you should be exerting energy and breaking a sweat while playing. Sports require being active and moving around while trying to achieve a certain goal like scoring, winning, defending, etc.
