I agree but I was just thinking of artists that came along during my lifetime when I posted that. Hard to think of anyone with a stronger body of work who first dropped in the mid 90s

He took the torch from Prince and ran with it. His reclusiveness has limited the wider public's appreciation of his talent but dude was an absolute beast. A genius.

Highly recommend anyone who is unfamiliar with his work to check out 2019's Devil's Pie: D'Angelo documentary.
