The Witch is one of my favorites. I feel like it deals with these themes well, with an obviously flawed family patriarch and a resolution ambiguous enough that you could easily argue the heroine was liberated rather than corrupted.

Fortunate to live in Louisville. Edward Lee had a fantastic Korean bbq restaurant here that unfortunately just closed. Dukbokki rice cakes with fried chicken on top, one of my favorite dishes. His Smoke & Pickles book is great as well.
