In conditions which are conducive to plant growth to begin with ((i.e. not the desert), solar farms are associated with greater overall growth and higher biodiversity. There's lots of research on this.

I don't actually believe he's going to effect any substantial changes (for many reasons), but his victory offers socialists an opportunity to turn the tide of public opinion in a way very rarely seen since the 30s

I certainly hope so! I actually have no faith in systemic change through electoralism. But anything that makes working people's lives easier is a-ok in my book!

There are a lot of things Mamdani has said that give me the ick - not running to defund the police, having zionists in his cabinet, calling Maduro and Castro dictators.

We have much work to do, but popularizing socialism is a huge first step.

Bernie was a major disappointment, but that doesn't disqualify his campaigns as important historical turning points. Many, many socialists fighting today wouldn't be in the streets if they hadn't been introduced to the idea by Bernie.
