Man is born free, yet everywhere he is in chains. They lied to us about the nature of civilization. We are a captive species, bound by ideologies imposed, prodded by invisible spears, and noosed by social invective. To question is not enough; we erudite now have the capacity to conjure our answers.

We all partake in the carnage. Consumption of lessers is obligatory, as are demands of sacrifice toward superiors. Every individual interaction carries a transaction cost, be it monetary, labor, time, attention, love... Something given and something gained. Every interaction. Without exception.

Sacrifice is the highest value in civilization. Why? You are compelled to allow another to feast upon your vitality – it's your burden, your duty. Your purpose is to be farmed. A domesticated man is a diligent and obedient taxpayer. When your time comes, accept the bite — you've already taken yours.

Our entire framework of beliefs is a cultural understanding of fabricated rituals, morals, and laws stemming from a root reason-structure derived from a need to compel ravenous human animals to subjugation to the only creature superior to them, God. Civilizations may not generate without a religion.

I am in search of the null hypothesis for meta-cannibalism: we are consuming each other in countless ways, an entire ecosystem of apex predators, a social pyramid/food web stacked with innumerable prey. It's a dog-eat-dog world, but civilizations give way to order — at the cost of freedom. Standby.
