i really like this photo i took of my sister's cat

from a hike last week

i'm so in love with these trees
trail through the bosque of the middle rio grande, featuring fall colors (ranging from green to pale green to pale yellow to gold) on big cottonwood trees. the trail is sandy, and cuts through an open grassy area before entering the forest. the light is that of late afternoon golden hour, and the sky is a pale blue.

honestly, perhaps the most telling part of this is that they don't even mention heat/spice 😭

touched leaves yay 🍁
looking up at a canopy of trees, mostly maples, against a cloudless pale blue sky. some of the maple leaves are still green, but many others are turning a bright fiery red.

orange milkweed (asclepias tuberosa) aka "butterfly weed" and there are little beetles all up in it monarch butterfly on the butterfly weed! it's a zoomed in crappy photo because i didn't want to get too close and disrupt its dinner.
