Thank you for changing your vote on HR 9495! I really appreciate everything you do, and Tampa is lucky to have you as a representative!

We talk about how Democrats need to change to be more appealing, but does the perception of Democrats line up with the reality of the party? I don't think it does, and I think that is the issue that needs to be addressed. Democrats are not defined by Democrats.

Democrats need to establish who they are and what they stand for. Right now, I think they need to define themselves as the party that believes in a liberal democracy. They believe a functioning government working to solve problems is the most powerful tool civilians have to protect themselves.

Anyone else get the strong feeling that the most likely fermi paradox solution is that civilizations destroy themselves before they get out of their solar system?

The right built parallel institutions, spending billions to create their reality. Media, news, music, medicine, banking, television, universities, podcasts, home schooling. And then they worked the ref on every play in our shared institutions—‘it’s not fair if you don’t hear our side!’

Yesterday we lost because Americans cannot agree on what reality we live in actually is. We have to figure out how to get back to having a shared reality.

Yesterday may have been the most significant moment in US history since Lincoln was elected and the south left the union. Hopefully things are better than they seem, but we aren't going to lay down and take anything. We aren't like the Republicans that give their values up so easily.

Trump former chief of staff saying Trump praised Hitler was not deemed important enough of a story for the NYT front page. Biden “garbage” remark? Front page, above the fold. bsky.app/profile/adam...

Having processed it for a few days, the most important thing to take away from the MSG Nazi rally is that racism is what Trump's campaign believes their voters want, the comedian believed that is what Trump voters want, and racism is what Trump thinks is the best method to get voters out.

Our team has written previously about political efforts to mobilize on top of "voter fraud" rumors and disinformation in 2020.

This NYT article provides an insider's view into how those efforts were organized. This infrastructure is far more mature in 2024.

seems like top of mind for pundits and political reporters should be “is trump mentally competent enough to be president?”
So Trump is still just standing around on stage listening to music. They played Nothing Compares 2 U and now it’s November Rain. Once again, he’s just been standing there for almost half an hour. It’s cheap to ask “what if Biden had done this?” but I think you have to at this point.

Biden's Justice Dept has
- prosecuted a Dem senator
- prosecuted Biden's son
- indicted one House Dem, while launching an investigation into another
- raided the home of two prominent Dem mayors

Why Eric Adams’ mess in NYC doesn’t help GOP conspiracy theories
As the Biden Justice Department targets New York's Democratic mayor, Eric Adams, the idea of a “two-tiered” and “weaponized” system lies in tatters.
