Peak COVID, I moved to giving students the option to record audio/video responses for my classes. The most disturbing part of that shift in the last 5 years? How many students' spend WEEKS without replacing (or having a landlord replace) smoke detectors' batteries.

Medical waste in this country is disgusting & requires everyone to be bought into its sense of urgency. Kudos to Kaiser Permanente for at least sending materials that I can break down in the sink for @ridwell.bsky.social to accept.
But it relies on time and money most don't have.

Finished my first playthrough of #Veilguard tonight. This series has meant so much to me, and I'm sad it's likely ended for good. Thanks for the stories, indeed.
