I have a tape of VH1 from around May 1998.
It had a show featuring a singer my dad liked. It was late at night so he pressed record, Probably went to bed afterwards and left it running. Tape didn't stop til the morning.
That might be what happened.

I also tried this. Its just a tape full of random videos from YouTube, Channel Surfing and a bit of Wii Sports.
Trying to play Wii Sports on the VCR was difficult as it had a noticeable delay.

I had a similar tape in bad condition. The glass part was cracked and made the worst noises when I played it.
Replaces the case, and now the tape is working again. All for the joy of finding a movie recorded from Sky Cinema around 1998-99 and the Discovery Channel from around April 1999

My DVD player sometimes struggles to play disc with minor scratches. One scratch the player refuses to play the disc.
