However, it is worth noting that Smilodon gracilis wouldn't have competed with Titanis much if at all due to major size difference. However, Xenosmilus would have more likely to clash with Titanis on occasion(VERY rarely, tho)

Cublade and Beaxe are counterpart fossils that you will have a chance to choose mid game, and in lore, they have a rivalry. This is mostly based on the classic Rivalry Terror Birds, and Sabertooths have been depicted in paleo media for years.

The pokemon's concept is ofc based on Land Whales, but it's also based on Grey Whale feeding habits. They swim to the shallow ocean floor and start scooping up sediment in their mouths from the ocean floor and filtering out the water and unwanted materials with their baleen plates.
