i think they announced a while ago they were phasing it out...? i might be misremembering, theyve been canning a lot of windows apps lately

im guilty of this as well, indecision (and being randomly blacklisted by some total strangers) has led me to not want to post/repost anything explicit here, i should really just get over it and support the arts a lil more lol

posts with OCs also always get far less attention than ones with popular Media Characters:tm:, even ones from really big artists. at this point i only find new artists through people i follow reposting their work. so my takeaway i guess is that we should be encouraging each other to repost more

my impression of this entire site as a whole is that... well i hate to use buzzwords but "discoverability" seems fairly poor. i've been on here for [significant amount] months and very rarely find a new account to follow because most people don't repost much and the discover tab kinda blows

my visual processing is pretty bad so sometimes if i'm not sure i'm understanding an image correctly i check the alt text and it turns out i overlooked something. it's just nice to have. anybody yelling at people for not using it is just being rude though, it's not worth fighting about

i don't think it's really meant to be a replacement for seeing the image so much as a supplement to make sure it's being interpreted correctly at a basic level. lots of visual impairments just make it a bit tricky to tell exactly what you're looking at sometimes and important details can get missed

(putting on my junior psychologist hat) your parents always seem to fixate on superficial elements of someone's presentation as if they're directly tied to personal success and well-being. isn't that interesting

today my computer started downloading a windows update to install later. it was using my entire cpu so my desktop just straight up froze for a solid minute or so. very annoying when things just Do That :[
