📮🧭 I'm still having a lot of fun combining my #postcrossing and #geocaching hobbies. This is a cache I hid Sun., near one of my favorite places in Indiana. I've written a lot of postcards here, upstairs overlooking the cat playroom, including this postcard I made for my 'Witch's Familiar' theme. 📮🐈‍⬛

The #Dinosaur Museum 🦕 complex was very nice; 🍻 #Oktoberfest sparsely attended, 🥨 delayed, with men in Lederhosen playing 🎶 Under the Boardwalk 🎺 UGH, but at least they sold nice t-shirts for my Festive Collection and Postcards designed by a local artist. 😍

The image shows a pint size milk bottle full of Halloween cake sprinkles plus the containers in which the sprinkles came, each topped with the Halloween motif: an eyeball, which I'm going to place on the way to the eye doctor on Sunday; a zombie hand, which we will place near a graveyard; and a ghost, which we're going to place near our home; but I hope it's not haunted! Plus I show a new postcard that I designed: it says "my favorite things witchy season" surrounding a cauldron with a witches broom, a witches hat, some roses, October 1st date, geocaching and Adventure Lab logos, the states where I play, which are Illinois Michigan and Indiana, and a sleeping kitten and woolen mittens, from the sound of music song My Favorite Things.

💖 My 📷 Printer! This World Postcard Day, since people often receive several official #postcrossing cards, I decided to do something different... (see comment)...
This image shows one of the postcards I am sending on world postcard day. The postcard has an image of Chicago's Lakefront Trail, on the coast of Lake Michigan, with the tall buildings of the city in the background and a large tree that hangs over a terrific bike path. The other side of the card has a sticker I made from the postcrossing official postcard image that they share and let us use. I also put the recipients interests on the card in the form of two different owl stamps and an elephant stamp plus a pair and a blueberry stamp. Our town is known for their annual Blueberry Festival, by the way.

🌙🧭 I created some geocaches that match the audiobook to which we are listening while we place and look for treasures 🎧📚 My 87-yo mother has worked puzzles since she was a kid, almost everyday. I send her puzzles based on our travels, and now I send her #postcards to match the puzzles.🧩 #postcrossing

🇹🇷🥧 International Variety is the Spice of Life! I feel fortunate 🍀 to live in a nation of immigrants 🇺🇲 and wish a majority of people felt this way. 🇫🇷 My grand-mere arrived at Ellis Island after she was a prisoner of war in WWI. Trying a new flavor of pastry, AKA "🐌pie" from #Türkiye via #FortWayne.
New to me flavor, (Turkish)Tahini Filo Pastry Pie (I call them pita/pie because I first liked the Greek, spinach and cheese version that is similar to Spanakopita). Google map showing Fort Wayne Halal Meat and Grocery location, because the store does not have a website, and their Facebook page is very outdated.

🥨🦖🍫 our last #Oktoberfest celebration of 2025 will be at the #SouthBend 🦕Museum and chocolate factory, which share a space. Many reviews of the factory do not recommend the 🍫 tour (TBC...). 🧭Too many #geocaches nearby, so we'll just hunt. 🏴‍☠️

One of the tigers from the "Tiger King" true crime drama now lives at this sanctuary, near where a traumatized bear slept, who was once used to "bear bait" hunting dogs. So very sad. Please support such animals' well being.

📮🧭 While I was writing holiday and festival round robin ( #HFRR ) #postcrossing cards, my #Snoopy #Halloween cookie tins arrived from WM! 🎃 Each one contains a hard sugar cookie, but I bought them to use as #geocaching containers, and anyway Jeffrey will eat anything with sugar in it. 😜

🥨🍻 +family calendar: #Oktoberfest at the German club (est 1868) in the town where we are having a #postcrossing meetup, and one at our usual spot for German/Austrian food and an early Autumn Equinox meal. 🎶 #Postcard is one I made when we lived in NC. #geocaching 🧭

📮 The #postcrossing forums are really fun. I don't usually choose the skeleton one; however I bought and sent from Chicago's Field Museum a cool mummy, lenticular #postcard with this forum in mind. I love the card I received in return (from Frankfurt, Germany). It's perfect for autumn.🍁

📮🧭 I've been delighted to discover there are many #geocashing #postcrossing joint activities, for example, we'll be going to one for World Postcard Day (#WPD) and stopping on our way to a Lansing Michigan meetup to visit the postal museum and drop off a geocache owl trackable 'bug' nearby. 🦉

🐈☕ Wow, #FortWayne has a ton of #geocaches. I had fun starting my first cache placements (now in review), based on 🎶'My Favorite Things'. This is one of my fave cat cafes; I've visited 15; I collect t-shirts.📮And on my table is the FW postcard I made for #postcrossing showing their Dr MLK Jr bridge.

🐈 Fritzi usually travels with us; however, during the concert near Chicago, I was happy to have the new kitty cam. It was only $10 and I highly recommend one for peace of mind and just fun seeing what they're up to. (This is a test photo. We plug in the water fountain when gone.)

🎶 I'm much older than average fans, but I enjoy the dancing in music videos, and I wanted to experience a K-Pop concert in a small venue. I dressed up as Bubu, since Kai's symbol is a bear, enjoyed giving out the freebies I made, and all the attendees I met were very nice.

We looked for a few caches on our way to Third Day Farm store, one of the local farms where we buy our pastured meat. Coincidentally I received a postcard featuring Australian cattle with lots of "fun facts" about the industry, surprisingly from a vegetarian #postcrosser.

Today we did some #geocaching on our way to swim at the lake. This is our swag from #Kosciusko County, IN. I couldn't find a #passiton rock website. It might be from a The Kindness Rocks participant. The postcard is one I made for #postcrossing.

🔎🛑Our first rural Indiana #geocache find, attached to a stop sign. The owner of the adjacent cornfield immediately drove his lawn mower over and asked what we're doing on his property. The next two stops were fine, and now my husband's mood is brightened by a 🍕🎲 Slice and Dice game of #Battletech.

📮Today our U.S. postmark expert on #Postcrossing posted in the forum the new postmark he created for October 1st World Postcard Day. So this afternoon I will be busy addressing postcards to send first to Texas for this special cancellation. 🙂
