I don't mind it. Dems already won the messaging war, and now they get to be the heroes who won you back your SNAP benefits and health care subisidies, which would be set to expire again *right around the midterms*

I wrote a book chapter on lying, in which I pointed out that bad liars go small ("Sorry I'm late, I had a family emergency") while really good ones go big ("Sorry I'm late, I was just diagnosed with cancer.") People have a hard time believing somebody would lie about something so huge.

Where I live in Bentonville, AR gets about as close as this sized city can I think, and if you substitute "I just want to able to bike to my daily needs" we're pretty much there. Extensive biking paths and lanes can be a good stopgap, and density can follow
