As Autism Acceptance Month (AAM) comes to a close, with disability benefits internationally under threat, here is a summary of my papers since the last AAM to demonstrate autism acceptance means recognizing and supporting disability, rather than weaponization/co-option ('neurodiversity-lite'). 1/

Victor Perez was a 17yo Brown non-speaking autistic boy with CP. Police shot him 9 times in his home. Victor was not a threat, he was a vulnerable child. 1/2

I would potentially have a lot more time for headlines like this if there was any other way for many people to recognise that they are neurodivergent and start taking steps to actually improve their lives. As there aren't, as there is little support even when diagnosed, I have zero time for them.
