Tonight we drank bourbon and listened to Run the Jewels on vinyl while I made peanut butter bread from "Baking Yesteryear" by B. Dylan Hollis.

The world is scary right now, but there's still this. There's still love.

Sometimes, a dose of nostalgia really does feel so good.

I have returned from Kentucky. Sights were, in fact, sighted.

(The Mammoth Caves were the coolest thing and I can't wait to go back!)
Inside the Mammoth Passage of the Mammoth Caves National Park. A tall, dimly lit cave with a line of people being led down the trail. A set of stairs lead out of the dark and up into bright green trees. This is the largest natural entrance into the Mammoth Cave system. A brick wall partially painted with a rectangle featuring a buffalo and a cityscape of Frankfort, KY. It reads "Buffalo Trace - Welcome to the world's most AWARD-WINNING distillery."

I'm finally unpacking from @viableparadise.bsky.social and thinking about Before & After.

An empty beach on day 1 vs. a beach full of friends on day 8. A tree full of leaves succumbed to the season, ready to rest. A writer on "sabbatical"...

I wonder what comes after?
A pale sand beach, recedes into a calm blue ocean. That same pale sand beach at sunrise, a group of writers in silhouette against the silver water.
