I asked ChatGPT what OpenAI's stake in Cursor might be valued at (they invested $8m in the $11m seed round), considering they've just acquired Windsurf for $3b.

Conservative estimate, is that the $8m is now worth between $600-900m after dilution.

The BBC did some legwork for their article on EV cable thefts. This is journalism. Makes it worth reading!

Are people not realising that source available != open source?

We see this with Gumroad's source code, and Meta's Llama 4.

Just because you can see the source, doesn't make it open source. Has the OSI just gone silent on fighting this?

Licensing matters. Or mattered.

I feel for Studio Ghibli, having once been to the Ghibli museum in Tokyo. It's interesting that copyright laws in Japan and the USA are different (Or more likely OpenAI just cares about lawyers from one area).

Never expected Lovable to look this way either! In-browser resources, yo.

Avid MyFitnessPal user, though I only use it for my 3,554 day streak (note: I don’t like it).

I see a lot of AI-based food recognition software pop up. Can’t say if it’s a feature or a product, long-term (streaks may help).

Oūra ring is doing pretty well here now.

Playwright MCP solves for finance or compliance teams - a real world use case is getting it to take wallet snapshots, on a daily basis to keep track of PnL.

You not only get text, you also get a PDF snapshot.

Do this in Claude, do this in VS Code, anywhere MCPs are supported!

Some people are enjoying a public holiday in malaysia.

Some people are busy grinding away.

You don’t get lucky by chance; you get lucky by showing up, when others aren’t.

Markups are smart. Bluesky should implement it.

You’re highlighting important bits, writing a little comment, and at the same time, it goes back to the original post.

Innovation in the repost!

Links are the very fabric of the Internet. I hope bluesky keeps links going, unlike X or Threads that nerf them

Revolut to expand to India by 2025. They've been operating there, with over 4,000 staff since 2021, but have waited a long time for a license, that came this year.

This is what a WeWork in Kuala Lumpur looks like on a public holiday. People with offices, are working. Despite not having air conditioning since it’s a building wide issue.

Work spaces that have AC running beyond the usual 9am-6pm, on a daily basis, would actually be a win.

Where do you go for your banana leaf rice fix in Kuala Lumpur?

I haven’t been to Nirwana in 10 years. It’s since been included in the Michelin guide for 2023 & 2024.

The food was OK, but nothing great. It wouldn’t make my guide.

Happy Lunar New Year. Do you infinitely scroll social media? Or do you get the news that’s fit to read, in quick bites? There’s clear benefit to just grabbing a newspaper, magazine or Kindle. Read wisely, to write eloquently, and own that content.

I just realised @scripting.com links here are very much like how links on X appear.

Pumped out DutchCo company profile stuff with a view.

Surprised that EM co-founder came as I was about to leave on Thursday.

So much to do, so little time.

In an incredible feat of clowniness, the wework gave us the wrong office. Here’s a smaller setup. Ok, whatever. I did spend about 15 hours in the other one last night. Was burning the midnight oil…

Come for the networking. The knowledge. Which is also online too. And the sponsor booths. But mostly, the networking

Went to Best to meet a client. A nearly 2 hour journey each way (walk, bus, trains).

The office space? Basically a repurposed Bata factory. Very cool, you could co-work there.

Productive.

Trains have power sockets. Wifi is sadly kinda meh, but you could do some laptop work if you wanted
