Ergo, pop surrealism is just contemporary surrealism representing existence in the current age.

Perhaps a better term for this movement would be capitalist surrealism.

The only difference between pop surrealism and classic (other than the era in which it exists) is that pop utilises stylistic elements of "low brow" art such as comics, advertising, animation etc and occasionally palette choices.

If surrealism as an art movement explores the subconscious and pop surrealism blends that with elements of pop culture then it stands to reason with how much we are bombarded by advertising, corporate slogans and branding our subconscious will inevitably become littered with capitalist detritus.

So. Pop surrealism.
I don't think it really exists outside of being a stylistic term.

Symbolically, whilst classic surrealism aimed to move away from the realities of the mundane pop surrealism uses elements of the mundane in its work, gladly.
