As a forward, going from an equivalency in the 20s in your pre-draft year to one over 50 in your draft year is extremely rare.

Cole Perfetti and Sam Reinhart are mirror images of each other in the model. Big game star Perfetti coming in a few years? Probably.

William Eklund was a player I and the model were high on at the draft. He had a slower development curve than I would have guessed after his draft season but he's starting to come on now. Currently enjoying his first star season in the NHL. Might be a stud yet.

Anton Silayev trending well in his D+1 season in the KHL thus far. That Devils D core is going to be a serious wagon.

Zayne Parekh started the season slow but he's cooking now! The Hockey Prospecting model loves his chances of turning into a future star offensive dman for the Flames.

Dustin Wolf, in his first taste of full-time NHL duty, is already putting together a star season this year for the Flames. This is good news. Flames might have their starter to guide them through the next decade.

Not very often that these ones are available outside of the 1st round. I wonder if teams even realize what they're potentially sitting on when they do get one of these outside of the 1st. Stumbling ass backwards into gold.

Lekkerimaki didn't splash in his D+1 year like I was expected but was chuggin' by his D+2. He hasn't played enough in his D+3 for an update yet but so far, so good with his early AHL results.

Even a late 1st rounder is slightly better than a 50/50 shot of becoming a legitimate 200+ game NHLer.
You're chances of drafting a star fall off incredibly outside of the top 5.
