I've been working on adding a combat log to Torment Hexus. One downside: all of the stupid joke names I assigned to spells triggered by enemies/relics/statuses are now exposed for everyone to see. :( #indiedev #indiegame

Today's bug: the Ivory Dominoes relic adds any damage you take to the next damage you deal. It was also enhancing damage you "do to yourself", e.g. due to poison. A nasty little surprise for someone in a rough spot! #indiedev #indiegame

Oh yeah, that's amazing! It reminds me a bit of Unreal's particle systems, where basically any field can be a constant, a random range value, a sample from a curve, or even an entire program, just slotted right in. It's an amazing feature, Niagara would be nowhere near as useful without it.

Playtesting has revealed a problem with fire spells in Torment Hexus: they set everything on fire! Which is unfortunate because you are a part of everything. Fortunately, I have devised a solution!

@techconnectify.bsky.social figured you'd get a kick out of this old (40yr?) bathroom scale. Bottom-left is the on switch. Pressing the diagonal bars spins the geared wheel, which presumably blocks light, allowing a photodiode to count revolutions.
