Two federal judges just ruled the gov't MUST continue to fund SNAP with $$ from an emergency reserve. But an expert in government finance that we spoke to emphasized that recipients will likely get less money than usual, and funding will still be delayed, though it’s unclear for how long.

With the USDA officially refusing to use its contingency funds for SNAP when funds expire at the end of this week -- a reminder that this $$ makes the economy go round. USDA's own estimation shows every dollar spent through SNAP actually adds about $1.50-$2 back to the local economy.

Colorado says the state will pick up the tab to keep two visitors centers open at Rocky Mountain NP while gov't remains shut down. CO joins Utah, Tennessee & West Virginia who earlier this month opened funding streams to keep parks open (though I believe WV had a two week time limit)
