Villanova basketball was down Duke Brennan on Tuesday night, but still came out on top over Old Dominion.

My takeaways and observations with @phillysport.bsky.social:

www.inquirer.com/college-spor...
Villanova knocks off Old Dominion despite first-half struggles, extends win streak to five games
With Duke Brennan sidelined with a right ankle sprain, coach Kevin Willard had to play more of a small-ball lineup — “Something that we’re still not very good at” — in an 89-75 win on Tuesday.

Personal News✍️: I am happy to announce that I have been elevated to Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Villanovan for the upcoming year.

I cannot wait to work alongside Kailey Fahy as Co-EIC. I want to thank Brooke Ackerman and Nicole Liddicoat for this opportunity.

Ja’briel Mace is humble. He’ll credit his offensive line for his success before himself.

Yet, his name is at the top of the program record list for rushing yards in a single game.

My story with @phillysport.bsky.social:

www.inquirer.com/college-spor...
Villanova’s Ja’Briel Mace hears from Brian Westbrook after breaking former Eagle’s record
Sparked by a 198-yard second half, the third-string back rushed for 291 yards against Towson to eclipse Westbrook's record.

Malachi Palmer grew up with a dream to play basketball at Villanova.

Born in Harrisburg, Palmer watched Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, among other Wildcats, win two championships in the span of three years.

My story with @phillysport.bsky.social:

Malachi Palmer followed his coach to Villanova. Now, he’s ready to show what he’s capable of.
The sophomore guard did not hesitate to follow head coach Kevin Willard from Maryland to the Main Line. While he saw limited minutes last season, Palmer has been “working all year” to improve.

After Luke Colella officially transferred to Villanova this offseason, someone stopped by his hometown outside of Pittsburgh for a visit.

It was Pat McQuaide, Villanova's quarterback.

My story with @phillysport.bsky.social:

www.inquirer.com/college-spor...
Villanova’s Pat McQuaide and Luke Colella have formed instant chemistry on a tight-knit team
McQuaide, a transfer from Nicholls State, and Colella, a transfer from Princeton, have led the charge for the 5-2 Wildcats' offense. Colella has hauled in 35% of McQuaide's total completions.

Shane Hartzell is a man of few words, but a lot of tackles.

He has been a quiet key asset to Villanova football for the last few seasons.

My story with @phillysport.bsky.social:

www.inquirer.com/college-spor...
Shane Hartzell has been the rock of Villanova’s defense. His goal in this final season? Leave a legacy.
He's been a statistical leader, feted with awards, and is the go-to presence on the Wildcats' defense. But for the Perkasie native, leaving a mark on the program matters more.

Story with @phillysport.bsky.social:
