I have a very-WIP Buffalo one but (1) this place is tiny, (2) I’ve not been motivated to work on it so it’s very early stages.

Top ones that com to mind are the LA and surrounding areas ones by @zombiegomoan.bsky.social and @richferro.com
I don’t recall if any are strictly activist/news, but wouldn’t be hard to layer on those extra pieces once the base Michigan stuff is there.

Anisota has anisota exclusive posts and what’s other exclusive features that will evolve into a game, and @dame.is plans to further separate it from Bluesky, so no I made that choice intentionally.
And grain isn’t a bluesky client at all??? Uses its own lexicon for images galleries etc.

I could make it pretty but I’m not gonna now. Here’s one that isn’t “just bluesky client” — all have their own lexicons and non-bsky content.
Also let me be honest: I made this out of spite against the disdain for things that are “just bluesky clients” as if that’s not a benefit of ATproto

Whether you or anyone else agrees with that interpretation and its decision isn’t what determines whether he should be banned, it’s whether a mod decided he violated TOS.
Also of the opinion that mods allowing their decisions to be influenced by public outcry is a dangerous and slippery slope

I don’t agree with the forever-ban but from the blog you shared it should be clear: they do not have the context, history, etc. of Link. They received a report on Link’s post. The post was interpreted as a death threat to the CEO. That’s in violation of the TOS. He got banned.

And pitching it as something they can integrate with their websites is a promising direction. They own and control their data for their websites but right now other socials have their content & data for socials. Their own PDS = control of their social content & data.

Oooh yeah in that direction, I’d look at I think Manchester United has their own — and @boston.gov has a whole host of accounts and atproto flavor going on but idk that they have their own PDS.
Can def see organizations being interested if they’re of a size/type to have multiple social accounts
