Finding Coins
Painted on a recycled grocery bag, this piece is about finding joy in adversity. Even when life feels stripped down, beauty still shines through the cracks. Like coins glimmering on the street, hope is always waiting to be found.

The Grocery Bag Series
We all carry bags—some heavy, some light. These pieces remind us we can turn them into something beautiful. 🌱

🌈 After the storm, Austin lit up in rainbow. A reminder: rainbows don’t shut anyone out — they stretch across the whole sky. Austin deserves fairness, representation, and a future that shines.

My mom painted this before her stroke. Years later, her final painting was of my sister’s dog, Teddy. But this one… two birds, quiet and tender—has stayed with me. I see her in the red bird, and myself in the blue. I carry her love in every brushstroke. 🎨❤️ #art #grief #love

Growing up in The Woodlands, I feared being myself. A nearby hate crime cast a long shadow. But at 19, Montrose showed me love and courage. Pride honors that journey—rising through fear, embracing truth, and living freely. By being visible, we spark change. Happy Pride to my bold, radiant community.

IN THE STUDIO:
The first painting in my new series, 𝘔𝘈𝘋 𝘈𝘕𝘐𝘔𝘈𝘓, is underway, and I'm loving every minute of it. As I work on this piece, I'm reminded of the importance of creative expression - it's been a couple of years since I've painted for myself, and this series feels like a fresh start.

FROM MY SKETCHBOOK:
Men wrestling study. Let's get real: when you're "wrestling" with your partner, it's usually because you're not on the same page as yourself. But hey, if you're into the whole physical wrestling thing, just make sure to call it what it is (and maybe have a safe word handy).

IN THE STUDIO:
Just in the studio and trying to stay away from the news of the disaster in office so I can focus upon and paint the beautiful things working around me.

WHAT I SEE:
Party in ATX.
I took three photos and this one was unintentional. Sorry to the accidental model who was caught in the line of fire of my inebriated camera. Jesus Gomez and John Lauer, thank you for including us in your spectacular joint birthday bash. Cheers to many more fantastic years.

IN THE STUDIO:
Meeting an empty canvas is not unlike being introduced to a new friend, some are comfortably predictable and others delightfully contradict one’s prejudices. Let’s see how this new friendship unfolds.

IN THE STUDIO:
I’m placing the sketchbook aside for a moment to begin painting the first of a new series. Is it hardest to make the first brushstroke or the last? Either way, the first brushstroke has been made and I’m on my journey to the last. Here is the beginning of my new series, “Mad Animal”.

Photo inspiration for “Jealousy”.
This feeling is complicated as are reasons for feeling jealous. It’s self pity mixed with disappointment and on its way to anger. If you move past it and feel the brief hit of rage and hatred… you are on your way up the emotional scale.
