Here we used a #woven net of some sort to apply orange underglaze to a basic brown bottle. It really takes it to another level!

Where do we get nets like that? Anywhere. Old doilies. Fruit bags from the grocer. Garden supplies.

Cake plate coming out of bisque today. It looks great until I tilt it just slightly and the knob decoration slides right off onto concrete.

Using two types of clay and trying to marry them is very hard because they dry at different rates and shrink differently but it looked so nice….😭😢😫 #artfail

After making some mistakes in firing my first effort at a cake plate for my wife (she requested an extra tall dome to fit faaaaancy baking), the second has better sculpting and is looking good.

I don’t have shoes but I have feet. In #pottery a foot is the bottom. I prefer to do a rimmed foot to a flat foot because it gives a nice finished look and has less area contacting the furniture and potentially scratching the finish.

I didn’t have much of a plan for the body of this pitcher - the handle I wanted to be like a lemur tail. So I just taped off some rhomboids to see how the white and black glazes would interact without wax masking. I quite liked the effect and used it lots.
