John Fund: Winners and losers in the Kavanaugh confirmation fight
In assessing who comes out ahead or behind after the Kavanaugh firestorm, let’s acknowledge that in some ways we don’t know: the midterm elections a month from now have become more chaotic and uncerta...

The ribbon is more subtle for sure but that is not necessarily a bad thing, and wearable everywhere, all the time!

There is this excellent t-shirt. pmpress.org/index.php?l=... And I wear it as often as I can but it is not really daily wear! I did find occasion to wear it to work once, when doing a house-building project with my students, but otherwise it only gets seen at the grocery story or at demos.

I am Canadian. The funny thing about “having to decide” is that we never get asked to. That’s the point with kings. And that’s why the US protests were given that title.

Exactly the point but with the examples provided in the post: blocking a door isn't violence, shooting someone with a rubber bullet is.

Listen to this first hand account for another example. Were an LEO in LA to face this level of physical danger from a protestor you would not need to scour bsky to find the story. bsky.app/profile/jima...
This happened live on the show today. Independent journalist Jorge Ramos caught up with a pregnant U.S. citizen who told us she was roughed up and arrested by federal agents during a detainment near Los Angeles. Watch!

Especially when violence gets defined so asymmetrically that shooting rubber bullets at a reporter is ok but blocking a door is labeled as violence: "The protest was initially peaceful but protesters began putting scooters in front of building entryways" apnews.com/article/immi...

Depends on how you define "terrorist," but if armed robbery for political ends is included, then look up Los Macheteros.

You only listed 11. Add Republic of Congo.

Just heard the chat - impressive! I signed the card a while back and would love to have some visible way to demonstrate and subtly model the commitment to others on a day to day basis. Imagining a green/red/whatever ribbon to get folks asking after it, and to build a visible community of commitment.
